1769 - Napoleon is born in Corsica.
1785 - Napoleon goes to a boarding school. While he is there, his father dies of stomach cancer. He joins the military academy.
1786 - He graduates and returns to Corsica.
1796 - He gets married in a civil ceremony on March 9th to Josephine.
1799 - He signs France's Constitution and takes control of France. He becomes First Consul.
1804 - He crowns himself Emperor of France.
1812 - He invades Russia but is defeated by the winter. He is forced to turn back to Paris.
1814 - Napoleon surrenders his powers and is exiled to Elba, a small island off the coast of Italy.
1815 - He returns to power but is defeated at the battle of Waterloo. He is imprisoned this time on the island of St. Helena in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
1821 - Napoleon dies of stomach cancer just like his father. Before he died, he dictated his will "I wish my ashes to lay on the banks of the Seine, in the midst of that French people I have loved so much. I die before my time, killed by the English oligarchy and its hired assasins."
